TOGETHER WE CAN DO SO MUCH – Volunteer With Us And Help Bring Families Back To Their Homes

If one person can make a difference imagine what 100 can do!

Grand Valley State University has joined our Disaster Relief Mission to help the families that are still stranded since Hurricane Harvey. One hundred students drove all the way from Michigan to provide assistance and support to these families as they fight to recover their homes.

More than six months after Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, there are still hundreds of families waiting for their homes to be gutted and rebuilt. Without any support and shelter, many families were left stranded since the storm. Our goal is to help these families with as much assistance as we have access to. From clothing, food, supply donations, to gutting and rebuilding their homes, as well as temporary shelter so these families can safely wait for their homes to be rebuilt. We want to be of service to those in need in all possible ways.

By connecting organizations that provide qualified services and volunteers that want to help the families in need, our goal is to unite all like minded people in the process of flood recovery, so these families can feel at home again.

Most importantly, our main goal is to love one another, spread kindness and compassion to those we meet and create a bigger impact together. It is to show the flood victms that they are not alone and that 100 people will lift them up high and support their needs. It is to inspire all people to be more connected with each other and realize that together we can do so much more!

GVSU went above and beyond to help these families. They distributed supplies, gutted homes, cleaned up debris in neighborhoods and helped assist dozens of families. Serving with these hard working students have been more than a blessing to our mission. Their hearts are bigger than this world and their commitment  in being of service is so refreshing!

We still have 150 families on the list needing support. The work is far from over but together there is nothing we can’t do! Join us on our fight to recover Texas, one family at a time!
