International Women’s Day

“Our backs tell stories no books have the spine to carry” – Rupi Kaur

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we celebrate the beauty of diversity and the union of women from different nations who believe this world needs more peace, acceptance, action and love. Women who boldly stand up for their nations and all the beautiful things that each culture has to offer in order to create an unique world.

Sawabona means “I see you”. By seeing others, we recognize their true selves, their presence in this world, their needs and their pain. As women and leaders we unite to show the world that each social cause is everyone’s responsibility and that it is our duty as individuals to recognize the issues that our world is going through in order to work together to create a social impact.

Today “We See” the 65 million girls not in school, the human trafficking victims, the women in war zones risking their lives, all the child brides, and many more women that are suffering from lack of human rights. Today we honor all the women who have marched throughout history to demand better pay, shorter work hours and suffrage. Because of these women, today we have an official day to celebrate being a WOMAN.

The strength of each individual woman empowers us all. This International Women’s Day, we honor all the female voices and the impact they have on all of us. When women succeed, the world succeeds. Let’s help women and girls achieve their ambitions, challenge conscious and unconscious bias, call for gender-balanced leadership, value women and men’s contributions equally and create inclusive cultures. From awareness raising to concrete action, let’s take a stand today and beyond.

Will you #BeBoldForChange on International Women’s Day 2017 and beyond? Let’s together take groundbreaking action that truly drives the greatest change for women. Show your support on social media by sharing the voice of a women who has inspired you.
