QUESTIONS FOR MRS. STEINITZ

How do you define your professional activity?  Can you tell us about your creativity and inspiration?
It is a perpetual race to discovery.  I am fascinated with garment history, revisiting and exposing it, and finally making it available again for all the fashionistas out there.

Among the people you have met, who do you think had influenced you the most?
My parents.  My father had an amazing talent for bargain hunting and loved learning.  My mother has a natural elegance about her.

What are you most proud of professionally and personally?
To be able to show and stand by my idea of elegance and style.

What are your 3 favorite pieces that you are offering at your boutique?
My 3 favorites pieces…  It’s hard to say…  Let’s say that I haven’t found them yet!!!!

Sarah Steinitz , the daughter of Parisian antique dealer Bernard Steinitz (www.steinitz.fr), is an insatiable fashion seeker who has recently opened a high-end vintage fashion boutique in Paris.  She discovered the world of fashion photography by working closely with her brother Paul Steinitz, a talented photographer (www.paulsteinitz.com), and she continues to pursue her goal of achieving the highest aesthetic standards in fashion.

She has participated in major vintage expos worldwide and she is currently expending her business into the American, British, and French markets through the help of Vintage Shows and collaboration with websites such as www.1stdibs.com.

Her natural instincts and fashion experience as a designer have gained her a very good reputation by those seeking exclusive high-end vintage fashion.  Her collection includes clothing and unique accessories from important designers from the 1900s to the 1990s including: Mrs. Grès, Jean Patou, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Alaïa, Claude Montana, Thierry Mugler, Issey Miyake, Pierre Cardin, and many more.

Her shop is in the heart of Paris; in the auction neighborhood of hôtel Drouot, where Sarah Steinitz has made these gems and symbols of timeless fashion accessible to the public. Come in. Push open the door of 19 rue de la Grange-Batelière in the ninth district and enter the world of “Mademoiselle Steinitz”, a veritable cabinet of curiosities revealing an exquisite collection of vintage Haute Couture and Ready to Wear designs.
