Daphne Burton
Daphne Burton founded the Burton IP Law Group. With more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property law, Daphne has personally managed hundreds of patent applications at various stages of prosecution. She has advised multinational, domestic and foreign companies on patent procurement, patent infringement litigation, rights to use, patent licensing and due diligence issues involving intellectual property rights.
Daphne received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. She worked as a project engineer for the Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA) after receiving her engineering degree and prior to entering law school. Her duties at ALCOA included electromechanical design.
Daphne is admitted to practice in California, Texas, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is fluent in English and proficient in French. She is a former partner at McDermott Will & Emery LLP and a former patent attorney for Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly LLP.
