The eye of the hurricane entered the island on its south-eastern Atlantic side and t<strong>raversed the whole territory<\/strong> towards the north-west, where it continued its devastating course across the Caribbean. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Winds reached <strong>speeds of 260 km\/h<\/strong> and <strong>waves reached the height of 25<\/strong> meters, destroying all coastline buildings.
