{"id":17030,"date":"2022-05-11T16:30:40","date_gmt":"2022-05-11T16:30:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicsynclicense.com\/?p=17030"},"modified":"2022-05-11T16:48:15","modified_gmt":"2022-05-11T16:48:15","slug":"danger-mouse-and-black-thought-announce-collaborative-album-cheat-codes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jurus.net\/musicsynclicense\/danger-mouse-and-black-thought-announce-collaborative-album-cheat-codes\/","title":{"rendered":"Danger Mouse and Black Thought announce collaborative album \u2018Cheat Codes\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1270\" src=\"https:\/\/jurus.net\/musicsynclicense\/wp-content\/uploads\/Danger-Mouse-and-Black-Thought.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full wp-post-image\" alt=\"Danger Mouse and Black Thought\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/danger-mouse\">Danger Mouse<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/black-thought\">Black Thought<\/a> have announced that they&#8217;ll be dropping a collaborative album this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Set to be released on August 12 via BMG, &#8216;Cheat Codes&#8217; is Danger Mouse\u2019s first hip-hop full-length since his &#8216;DANGERDOOM&#8217; collaboration with the late <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/mf-doom\">MF DOOM<\/a> which was released back in October 2005.<\/p>\n<p>It follows Black Thought\u2019s pioneering output with legendary Philadelphia group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/the-roots\">The Roots<\/a> and his critically acclaimed solo trilogy, &#8216;Streams Of Thought&#8217; &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-roots-black-thought-shares-streams-of-thought-vol-3-2790068\">the third volume<\/a> of which was released in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Cheat Codes&#8217; &#8211; which was initially rumoured to be called &#8216;Dangerous Thoughts&#8217; &#8211; is\u00a0something that the pair began the initial idea for &#8220;maybe 13 or 14 years ago&#8221;, Black Thought revealed when he first teased the project in an interview back in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s a feel-good record,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It\u2019s a record for people who got into hip-hop and sort of evolved at the same period of time that we did. Conway the Machine)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>12. &#8216;Voilas &amp; Lupita&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, it&#8217;s been revealed that the Harlem Cultural Festival \u2013 the setting of Roots drummer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/questlove\">Questlove\u2019s<\/a> decorated documentary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/film-reviews\/summer-of-soul-review-questlove-2986808\"><em>Summer Of Soul<\/em><\/a> \u2013 will be revived and reimagined as the Harlem Festival of Culture in 2023.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/harlem-cultural-festival-of-questloves-summer-of-soul-documentary-to-be-revived-next-year-3204538\">The Harlem Festival of Culture will be an annual affair kicking off in the summer of 2023<\/a>. It\u00a0will take place at Marcus Garvey Park, the same site that hosted the original 1969 festival that was the subject of Questlove\u2019s film.
