Here\u2019s why we need Muse more than ever<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Performing their first major shows of 2022 with two special charity gigs at London&#8217;s Eventim Apollo Hammersmith earlier this week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/muse-hammersmith-apollo-london-may-2022-charity-fan-show-photos-setlist-footage-3221854\">Muse treated fans to new songs and &#8220;deep cut&#8221; rarities<\/a>, as well as unveiling a live line-up that features Lancaster on additional synths, keys, percussion and guitar duties. Lancaster also provided mixing duties for their recent single &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/track\/muse-new-songwont-stand-down-review-3137050\">Won&#8217;t Stand Down<\/a>&#8216;.<\/p>\n<p>Lancaster took to Twitter to say that he&#8217;d had an &#8220;amazing couple of nights playing with Muse&#8221;, adding that he was &#8220;looking forward to the summer&#8221;.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Amazing couple of nights playing with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/muse?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@muse<\/a> thank you everyone! Looking forward to summer <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iPBvLK6UOk\">pic.twitter.com\/iPBvLK6UOk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Dan Lancaster (@DanJLancaster) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DanJLancaster\/status\/1524319130043748352?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 11, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Alongside his work as a solo artist, Lancaster&#8217;s life as a producer and mixer has seen him work on records by the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/BLINK-182\">Blink-182<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/ENTER-SHIKARI\">Enter Shikari<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/don-broco\">Don Broco<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/mallory-knox\">Mallory Knox<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/ONE-OK-ROCK\">One OK Rock<\/a>. He mixed Bring Me The Horizon&#8217;s 2015 album &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/blogs\/nme-blogs\/bring-me-the-horizon-on-new-album-thats-the-spirit-and-riding-around-greek-islands-on-quad-bikes-16314\">That&#8217;s The Spirit&#8217;<\/a>, 2019&#8217;s&#8217; &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/bring-me-the-horizon-amo-review-2437101\">amo<\/a>&#8216; and a number of songs on their &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/bring-me-the-horizon-post-human-survival-horror-review-2802286\">POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR<\/a>&#8216; mini album\/EP.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to Instagram stories, BMTH&#8217;s Jordan Fish shared footage of Lancaster on stage with Muse at Hammersmith Apollo with the caption &#8220;I feel like a proud dad&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Muse The Gallery Live Hammersmith Apollo\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/n2sb8xktdYE?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>Since 2006, this role in Muse&#8217;s live band had been filled by former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/senseless-things\">Senseless Things<\/a> member Morgan Nicholls, who had previously toured with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/THE-STREETS\">The Streets<\/a> and collaborated with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/gorillaz\">Gorillaz<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Writing on Twitter earlier this week, Morgan posted: &#8220;Wishing MUSE and all their family, friends, crew, management and lovely fans all the very best for the &#8216;Will Of Th People&#8217; album tour. Sure to be utterly brilliant as always!
