Dua Lipa<\/a> has shared more details about her upcoming third album, saying the record is “about understanding what I want”.<\/p>\n The singer\u2019s follow-up to her 2020 smash \u2018Future Nostalgia\u2019<\/a> was\u00a0first teased back in January<\/a>, when Lipa said she had \u201cdone a big chunk of writing\u201d for the new record.<\/p>\n In March, she then revealed that the album was “50 per cent done”<\/a> and is “starting to take shape”.<\/p>\n Reiterating that the album is half-way finished in a new interview with Vogue<\/em><\/a>, Lipa also discussed more of the inspirations and ideas behind her third album.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve definitely grown up. Overall, whether it\u2019s sonically or in terms of the themes, I\u2019ve matured,” she said.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s like I\u2019m coming into my power and not afraid to talk about things,\u201d she added of the third album. \u201cIt\u2019s about understanding what I want.\u201d<\/p>\n In a January interview with\u00a0The Wall Street Journal<\/a>,\u00a0<\/i>Lipa said that LP3 was \u201cstill in baby form\u201d and that she was \u201cin no rush\u201d to unveil the material, but that she has \u201ca lot of it recorded\u201d.<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cIt has a vision. It has a name, I think\u2014for now. It\u2019s just been fun experimenting. I\u2019m always going to make pop music, but it has its own unique sound, which is exciting and something that feels like a movement from \u2018Future Nostalgia\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n Lipa also teased that her sonic progression between records would be significant, and that fans might have to wait a while for the follow-up to \u2018Future Nostalgia\u2019. \u201cIn all honesty, it\u2019s probably not what my fans want to hear \u2013 but I\u2019m in no rush to release a new album,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n After recent headline runs in the US<\/a> and\u00a0the UK and Europe<\/a>, Lipa will play gigs in Australia and New Zealand<\/a> later this year, as well as appearances at festivals like Lollapalooza<\/a>,\u00a0Sziget<\/a>,\u00a0Roskilde<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Primavera Sound<\/a>.<\/p>\n Reviewing the UK tour opener in Manchester last month<\/a>, NME<\/em> wrote: “\u2018Future Nostalgia\u2019 cemented the fact that she had the most enviable arsenal of club-pop around; tonight\u2019s tour proved she also has the sheer star power to take things to an even greater stratosphere.”<\/p>\n The post Dua Lipa says her third album is “about understanding what I want”<\/a> appeared first on NME<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Dua Lipa has shared more details about her upcoming third album, saying the record is “about understanding what I want”.
