First interested in abstract art, it gradually turns to classical performances ( Greek ) . He moved several years in Paris , where he is a student of Aristide Maillol . He shared a studio with Alexander Calder and common Jean Cocteau, Fujita , Brancusi and other artists of bohemian Paris of \u00e9poque1 . He then moved to Rome after receiving the Prix de Rome in Prussia in 1932, he stayed at the Villa Massimo , the German Academy in Rome. He quickly recognized throughout Europe.<\/p>\n<p>In the mid 1930&#8217;s, his talent was appreciated by the ideologues of the National Socialist Party ( according to one of his French biographers, Breker was returned to Germany in early 1935 at the request of Max Lieberman, the great German painter of the time but not paint because Jew, who died a few weeks later. Breker realize his death mask ) . In 1937 , abandoning the style of his youth, he was appointed professor at the \u00c9cole des Beaux- Arts superiors in Berlin.<\/p>\n<p>During the war , it will continue to perform his work as a sculptor . In 1942, he participated in an exhibition at the Orangerie in Paris which was variously assessed , but greeted with enthusiasm by many intellectuals including Jean Cocteau.<\/p>\n<p>After the war, he opened a new workshop in Dusseldorf . His orders come mainly from industrial Germany after the war. He continues to maintain relations with the French intellectual circles at that time and made \u200b\u200bbusts of Cocteau and Jean Marais. He realized in 1960 , a sculpture of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat .<\/p>\n<p>He continues to sculpt until his death in 1991.
