Silverlake

Built around the social, literal center of East Los Angeles, an actual lake called Silverlake, this highly residential and commercial mainstay is known as the nation’s “hippest neighborhood.”  Silverlake has been known as the indie alternative to the Sunset Strip since the alternative music boom of the early 90s and that has translated to California’s scenester central with Angelinos lining up outside of bars and clubs every night.  The roar of the youth movement is not contained by its boarders of Atwater Village, Los Feliz, Echo Park and Westlake.  As a matter of fact, the arty and intelligent spill out into nearby communities, creating one large collective, filled with California’s most imaginative residents.

Hip, young and fueled by the arts, Silverlake can most easily be described as an equal combination of Hollywood, San Francisco and Austin.
