Kiwi, Mango & Avocado Fruit Scoops – NORWAY – Food Exposed: International Food & Tools Series
On this episode, Jackie takes a look at what’s on your plate in Norway! Norwegians, for the most part, are a very healthy bunch – eating seafood up to three times a week and including veggies as a regular part of their diet. Typical Norwegian cuisine also includes open-faced sandwiches topped with seafood, meats and veggies. They also rely on a simple tool to get the most out of their fruits and veggies – the fruit scoop – which come in different sized shapes in order to scoop out the inside of virtually any sized fruit to make smaller portioned shapes perfect to complement any dish.
This stylish and simple tool makes getting the “best” stuff out of the fruit quick and easy to incorporate into any entree, dessert or salad!
On today’s recipe segment, Jackie and Inge show us how to make the typical open-faced style of Scandinavian sandwiches and uses the avocado scoop to add a source of healthy fat, as well as vitamins C, D, E and K.
